3D Lemmings (PSX Red Book Audio) - LEMGO 1 Lemmings GO! This is a fun one, and the fact that the music is Redbook really helps it (when compared with the ultra-cheesy PC synths of the day). A little on the short side though.

Amen: The Awakening - Memory of the First Touch Ironically, the music for this canceled game is the best thing the composer has ever done. Here he puts the main theme into piano format with just the barest hint of other instruments behind the solo melody. It's moving, subtle stuff: ice-cold in execution but nevertheless longing.

Aoishiro Original Soundtrack - A Trailblazer Surpasses Death Easygoing, mellow lounge licks. Nothing about this style of track really jumps out and grabs me; a pleasant diversion that's instantly forgotten.

ChaosField Sound Track - back in to the machine -phase 5- Some nice beats and techno FX here, but the music doesn't go anywhere or turn those building blocks into anything substatntial so it quickly wears out its welcome.

Red Zone (Genesis Game Rip) - Night Mission Sounds more like a C64 SID than a piece of Genesis synth. The rhythm was interesting but I couldn't really get into the song.

Silver Surfer (Game Rip) - Level Theme 2 I recognized this one immediately--I want to say BCC, but it might have been in the BSC as well. Very eclectic, as is its wont as a Follitune, and some sections are absolute dynamite, while others are too laden with SFX for my taste. On balance, it'd be a keeper if I didn't already have a copy.

Super Contra 7 (Game Rip) - Stage 1 I was expecting something hard-hitting from this, given the Contra name, but instead got what seem to be a set of random notes played on an NES synthesizer. Really awful; sorry nominator.

The War of Genesis III PART1 + PART2 Original Sound Track - Glorious Morning When will the scribers of moon runes learn that PUTTING THINGS IN CAPS doesn't make them cooler, especially if it's mundane information like the parts contained therein? That aside, this was very surprising; I was expecting all-out action and got a very nicely done chamber ensemble instead. Surprisingly, I liked it, even though chamber music usually bores me to tears.

Another rather poor week in my opinion. At least the point spread was easy!

Cute, tropical, guitar mix?! Sorry, but 3D Lemmings (PSX Red Book Audio) - LEMGO 1 is just odd and doesn't have any distinct or memorable elements. It's like the theme for a sugar-high, you know, the sort of sugar-high that induces psychotic and immature behaviour.

Amen: The Awakening - Memory of the First Touch is definitely not my kind of track. Aimless, moody piano of the fringe of ambience but not quite positioning itself in any known musical territory. Dull.

Aoishiro Original Soundtrack - A Trailblazer Surpasses Death is an arrangement of the vocal theme from the game, and manages to surpass it on a number of levels in my opinion. The smooth introduction provides a fantastic buildup to the guitar melody at 0:58, which is equally smooth and even more engaging, bearing great clarity of sound and melody. MANYO succeeds again~

ChaosField Sound Track - back in to the machine -phase 5- is, for the first few minutes, decent electronica. But nothing evolves; nothing is added to keep my interest. As such my overall feeling towards this track is not too positive.

Red Zone (Genesis Game Rip) - Night Mission is some very average in-your-face chiptunage. The infectious drive and beats are there, but on the whole it doesn't engage me.

Yesss, a track with some melody and direction! Silver Surfer (Game Rip) - Level Theme 2 is fun from start to finish, and while not blowing me away, shows off a few good melodies and rhythms to help push it to the finish line. Good stuff! (Absolutely love the introduction, by the way (first 16 seconds))

Super Contra 7 (Game Rip) - Stage 1 sounds...well, it sounds really messy and incoherent. The random notes don't harmonise or create a nice pace or sense of affability. Sorry nom, but I think this track just raped my ears. :(

The War of Genesis III PART1 + PART2 Original Sound Track - Glorious Morning is, as I expected, good stuff from our Korean friends. I haven't heard this soundtrack in full yet, but from what I've heard it sounds great. This isn't one is one of the weaker ones I've heard, but it's still elegant, simple and conveys a nice atmosphere. Pleasant~

The guitar in the 3D Lemmings track knocked me out of chair, couldn't believe I was hearing it. Still not really sure if I like that development or not, but it's still the track I'd rather listen to again out of the remaining six.

Stage 1's triangle sound is so crazy, I absolutely love it. This thing hooks me from the start. And the main melody seems pretty familiar, like the level intro for Green Beret/Rush'n Attack, for one thing. God, what an ending!

This week's songs were all great, I liked them all to some extent.
