Where'd my "show desktop" button go?

Y'know those buttons next to the start menu (the name for them escapes me right now...quick launch items maybe?)? Well somehow, I deleted the most useful button ever, the minimize all/show desktop button.

Does anyone know how I can get it back? Thanks in advance.

You could just hit Windows+D to minimize everything to the desktop, you know.

As for any other shortcut, just drag it back there.

Try pasting this in the following folder:

C:\Documents and Settings\XXXXX(the account which you use)\Application Data\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch

Me again =.="

Same problem, except I've tried the Show Desktop.scf thing (here), but when I lower the scf file to my quick launch and then click on it, the window comes up that says something like "windows can't recognise the file, do you want to select a program from a list or look on the web for help?". I tried the latter but that didn't help me one bit. Can anyone help me here?

By the way, Windows key + D is great and all but I sometimes forget about it, in other words, it's much easier if I have the button in quick launch.

You tried this, correct?

Right click on your desktop -> New -> Shortcut -> Browse -> Desktop -> OK.

Then just drag the shortcut onto your quick launch bar.

Doesn't that open the desktop, rather than minimizing to it?

Also, is this for Windows XP? I get the feeling it's not.

Everything you need to know.

Pay attention to the filename extension, so notepad doesn't save in .txt format.

Oh, damnit. I could swear it worked in Windows 2000, but they must have changed something for XP. :(
