Yakitate (manga)
 

This is possibly one of the funniest manga I read. (Well I didn't read a variety of manga, but this really hits the spot). It's about a boy who wants to make the best bread in Japan. The storyline is very simple, but it's addicting at the same time. Just read a few and you'll understand why!

There was a thread about the anime series buried somewhere in this area.

That said, I've seen the series and it's pretty addicting. Many have dubbed it Hikaru no Go - Bread Version since it takes a normally bland concept like baking and throw in a fresh outlook on the whole idea. Probably the real kicker comes from watching the reactions build up to become more and more ridiculous with every episode. It's a pretty solid all in all.

Dude, Yakitate is by far the FUNNIEST manga I have ever read. The mangaka really knows his humor. I love Pierrot, "BECAUSE I'M A CLOWN!" Makes me spit out whatever I'm drinking or eating whenever I read that. Plus the character twists and stuff are so unbelievable. And it's actually not that bland since the mangaka actually puts (seemingly) real bread conceptions into the manga, making you go, "Oh....?" when you read how they've make their bread.

All in all, a must read.
