This is probably a bit of a reach, but is there any way we could get a die-roller plugin installed on GFF for the sake of those of us running PbP games?

(Yeah, primarily me.)

I tested this one on CHF and it seems harmless:

Unless someone knows of a better one.

I don't mind doing all the die-rolling personally but this would remove any suspicion of DM favoritism and speed things up in general.

1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20

I have a java app for it, but it would be better all around if people could do their own rolls; that way you could all know whether you hit something before the next person has to make a move, reducing the number of "yeah, it's already dead" IMs I have to send out.

(and since Brady is obviously using the Monster Manual as a crib sheet it'd be easy enough to know which rolls do and don't hit)

Yeah, I was kinda joking. I can see how that might appeal to Brady's rather mathematical approach to the game though. I'm more of an act silly and wing it player so the mechanics are rather arbitrary to me, even if after 6 months I now actually understand a few.

From the looks of things it creates a stamp in a post that can't be edited. Useful as there's a couple of staff in the game, if only to avoid accusations of cheating as I don't think either Brady or I would stoop so low as to cheat at the game.

I.... I, too, was joking :(

On my own board I can't find a way to meddle with the rolls after-the-fact (short of deleting the post outright) even when I'm logged in as admin so it appears to be essentially tamper-proof.

Suppose I'll have to get CHz's attention if I want this to go anywhere.

Oh did you want that right now and not just some time within the next 8-12 weeks, my apologies.

Rolling should now probably work in Mom's Basement. It works for me, anyway. Just click on the terribly ugly roll button in the postbit to add a roll to your post (and only your posts).

The plugin doesn't allow editing of rolls, short of actually editing the database, and there isn't any way to undo a roll, so there shouldn't be any trickery possible. (unless I/Blah/etc. do it)

Also be sure to let me know if anything is broken because of this. The plugin broke PM viewing, which I fixed, but there might be other problems that I didn't notice.

Well, I wasn't ordering that it be done right now, I was only hoping it was possible. All the same, thank you. :)

I'm not exactly married to the button, so if anyone else finds it aesthetically offensive I'm sure it's easy enough to just replace it with something less obtrusive.

I just bumped up the roll description field length to 30 characters and the max rolls per post to 20. I don't know how many times you typically roll per post, but I should be able to increase them more if you need more.

I wish I was cool enough to be in GFF D&D. Not even remotely sarcasm, I totally do.

Of course I bet you're using the latest rules while I'm more of a first ed. kind of guy... but to be honest it's so difficult now we're in our thirties to get people round a table that I'd take any kind of game I could get.

CHz, what's the maximum size and number of dice allowed for a single roll? I got it to give me 10 D100 but not 99 D999's, unlikely as that situation is.

I just noticed the tab order is a bit odd. After tabbing from the dice input box, it goes straight to the banner. Requesting for it to go to submit instead :D
