lsass.exe Problem
I have an old HP laptop that I'm trying to fix so I can send it to my cousins in Mexico. Normally, I would reformat it and be done with it but there's some documents on it that I want to back up first and when I boot into the machine it stops the cycle at startup citing "lsass.exe - Unable To Locate Component" where apparently the component it's looking for is called "lsasrv.dll".
Is there any way to fix this problem without having to reformat? It should also be noted that the disc drive in this machine doesn't work for shit. |

Does extracting this file into \Windows\System32 help you?
If not, what happens if you boot into safe mode? |
I'll give this a try and let you know if it worked. Thanks!
