When Surfing The Net
Do you generally fiddle with something when playing on the net? For instance, I tend to play with poker chips when I am surfing on the net either waiting for it to load, or reading something. Other times I use the back scratch thing I have that I won in a draw with my ex-girlfriend like 4 years ago.
Sure, most of us just click and point and read, but what about those of you that naturally like to play with things? (Insert bad humour here) |
I don't really fiddle with anything when I'm surfing online. But sometimes I play with my kneaded eraser like it's a piece of clay. Mash it up and mold it into weird shapes.

You've just made me notice how much my feet fidget when I'm sat at the computer. My hands are tied up with typing and drinking when I'm online, although I occasionally mess with my hair a little.
|
When I have gone a day or two without shaving, I have an idle habit of plucking at my facial hair (which has the side-effect of encouraging me to tidy that shit up the next morning).
Otherwise I click my toes. Loudly. |
I swear that my legs have some sort of odd DDR syndrome or something. I'm always trying to heel-toe steps out on the floor as I'm surfing the net.
|
I'm usually have the tv on when I'm on the computer so either I'll glance at the television or I'll fiddle with a pen or bottle cap. Today was special though, I found a random piece of squishy foam on my table that I fiddled with...until it ripped :(
|
I must be one of the most relaxed people around. I don't fidget at all when I'm on the computer, which is strange because I usually fidget quite a lot... curse of having a best friend with a percussionist as a dad
|
I'm usually have the Ipod ( with speakers )on when I'm on the computer .
|
I tend to excessively queue up tracks in winamp to be played.
|
When I was younger, I used to chew my fingernails, but breaking that habit resulted in me constantly fiddling with my hands to keep them busy. At work, I have a rubber band, the plastic spindle off a label maker, and squishy soccer ball; at home it's a plastic slinky or the round plastic screw cover from my computer chair.
I'd go so far as to say it's a compulsion. By the end of the work week, sometimes my left hand is actually sore from squeezing the soccer ball or fooling with the rubber band, but yet I can't stop. Just while typing this post, I've stopped to fool with the rubber band several times. |
I am more often than not listening to music at my computer, so I tend to tap out the beat with my toes if I am sitting and doing nothing. If not that, then gnawing at my cuticles... usually until I hurt myself.
|
I knit. Or smoke. Or get a drink. I try to do something productive.
I don't fidget too much. That's what the smoking is for. (Honestly, it REALLY curbs my need to do something ALL THE FUCKING TIME.) |
