Betty Page dead at 85

1950's pin-up scorcher Betty Page died yesterday of a heart attack. She was 85; story here.

I was never really as much of a fan of hers as the pretentious emo kids who dolled up like her because it's so PUNK RAWK but I always liked her tacky-ass photo spreads. I still have this one in poster form:

Old school bondage I am assuming?

I was never a real fan of her old school fetish stuff. But I did like how she was featured as a character in The Rocketeer comics.

Sorry, but old school bondage involves ropes that causes circulation to be cut.

Oh, Ok. I was just assuming and wasn't too sure. Thanks for the clear up. :)

Fuck you and the burro your rode in on, wetback.

Betty Page dying is too bad, not because she was a blazing-hot woman in her prime (though she was) but because she was interesting as hell. If you ever read some of the books written about her, she has this litany of interesting stories and experiences. She managed to stay so in fashion 60 years after her debut. Impressive.

And I can now no longer look at her pin-ups and think, "She's pretty hot, for a dead gal."

But srsly, it is a shame. She was more than pretty, she was funny and smart, more than a lot of girls nowadays. She will be missed.
