Avatar alignment weirdness

This might just be me, but I noticed today that avatars aren't quite lining up in their boxes correctly. For some reason they seem to be slightly shifted up by a few pixels (I've attached an example). I'm using Firefox 3 if that helps.

I'm using Firefox 2 and it's the same way. I just noticed it a little while ago as well.

Could we possibly blame Mo0 for this one? His avatar is just crazy.

But Firefox 3 user here, and I can see it as well.

Yeah, I can see it in my Firefox 3 as well.

And I wonder how many places I'll have to bring this up but again Skills set this avatar, not me. I am currently unable to change it.

Not that I'd want to, I think it's pretty funny.

Firefox's vertical centering calculation seems to be off by a few pixels, so I applied a Band-Aid. Hopefully shouldn't affect any other browsers' displays.

Just tested in IE to double check, but it's still vertically shifted there.

THE POWER OF WATER Dec 2, 2008 10:03 PM

Vertically shifted up or down? Does it look the same as OP's attached pic?

Fluffykitten McGrundlepuss Dec 3, 2008 09:42 AM

Yeah, same problem Maggie had.

Bloggs Dec 3, 2008 09:47 AM

I'm seeing the same with IE too so it's not a fault with Firefox.

Fluffykitten McGrundlepuss Dec 3, 2008 10:13 AM

I bet it is Mo0's fault you know.

Additional Spam:
Maybe not then, I changed his and it's still broken. :(

Looks fine to me. Firefox 3.02.

Safari under OS X didn't bring up any issues either.

FatsDomino Dec 3, 2008 11:22 AM

I noticed this two days ago but didn't bother thinking that it was just me. Seems to be fine now though. You change something, CHz? How's it look for everyone else?

I did exactly the same for the first few days after spotting it. Then I thought "Fuck it, I'm going to mention it just in case". I think CHz has tweaked it for Firefox (it looks OK in Opera on Windows too), but I think people are still having issues in IE.

THE POWER OF WATER Dec 3, 2008 08:02 PM

Just applied the same fix to IE as well (just an adjustment of a few pixels), does it look right now? If it's still off above or below, I can nudge it some more.

I checked Safari before I added the Firefox fix and it was working fine there, so I've been excluding it from my changes to keep the rendering correct.
