Echoes of War: The Music of Blizzard Entertainment
Eminence Symphony Orchestra announces "Echoes of War: The Music of Blizzard Entertainment" - a 2-disc album and DVD package featuring a stirring collection of orchestral themes from across the Blizzard Entertainment universes.
|
And an interview with Hiroaki Yura to go along with the announcement:
Echoes of War Arrange Album Tracklist and Interview More to come soon! |
According to the M4G page, Kow Otani arranges Children of the Worldstone from various Diablo tracks while the OSV page indicates that it's an original composition. Just letting you guys know.
The VGMdb entry is up for refinement. |
Yeah, it's discussed in the interview. It's an original composition inspired by the music from Diablo. I think the main melody line is referenced, but yeah, very loose arrangement if you'd want to call it that.
|
I read hints about this on Hiroaki's blog. Looking forward to hearing this!
|
Despite never played any Blizzard title (Lousy PC), I intend to get this album. I always enjoyed the music from WoW at the Eminence concerts, and Kow Otani contributing makes it a must have.
|
Oh and don't forget that Shiina Masaru will be arranging as well ;). I was actually hoping there would be more guest arrangers.... like Hitoshi Sakimoto, Junichi Nakatsuru, and Masaharu Iwata for example. At any rate, I plan on purchasing me a copy if and when I get money, lol.
|
Now that's it been released, has anyone gotten a chance to hear it? I'd like some feedback before buying it
|
I heard a while ago and it's great =P
Jokes aside, we've sent review copies to a lot of games media so you should be able to read multiple reviews within a week or two. |
Just in case you guys haven't seen it, here is a recent Feature article by Kotaku.
Feature: Composing The Soundtrack To Blizzard's World |
Hey BigHairyFeet!
I don't work for the EO Store but if you shipped that early, it surely should be on its way! You should email yfukuwa@eminenceonline.com - Yuya Fukuwa, he is our logistics manager for this project. Sorry! |
You were looking for a review, and Patrick has finally posted his impressions of the legendary edition of Echoes of War:
Easily the Best of East and West With Echoes of War: The Music of Blizzard Entertainment (Review) I've heard the album as well, but since I contributed to the project and may be biased, I'll just say that I love Go Shiina's arrangement of the Zerg music and Kow Otani's reimagination of the music from Diablo in particular. The DVD is fun to watch, and the booklet provides a wealth of information about the composers and recording process. So, that's all I'll say! |
|
It's the best compilation of game music that's i've heard so far (but I'm a fan of Blizzard series [Diablo, Stracraft, Warcraft]) :)
A must-have ! |
Anyone in need of this?
