Er wat?
|
It's Sega's new rhythm game called LetsTap made by Sonic creator Yuji Naka.
http://www.famitsu.com/game/news/__i...c_n_gn/tap.jpg Apparently you put the Wii controller on a box and tap it and the motion sensor relays the vibrations as movements. |
Yuji Naka is officially insane and I like it. I saw the clip from that Nintendo preview thing in the Punch-Out thread, and it looked really neat. This control scheme is so insane and sounds like a lot of fun as a party game, though it all depends on how accurate it is and stuff.
Also, I'm already addicted to the Let's Tap song. |
I'm a little tired of minigame compilations, but I'll wait and see what the end result is.
The music... sounds like Hideki Haganuma made it! |
LET'S TAP LET'S TAP FUTURE TAPPING GAME
LET'S TAP LET'S TAP FUTURE TAPPING GAME OH YEAH LET'S TAP LET'S TAP FUTURE TAPPING GAME LET'S TAP AND LET'S TAP FUTURE TAPPING GAME OH YEAH |
*tap, tap, tap, tap, tap*
This looks pretty damn interesting. |
Infectious music? A super psychotic concept that will probably end up being fun, spearheaded by the former head of Sonic Team? Guys, I think I've found a reason to dust off my Wii (besides Mega Man 9). Keeping my eye on this.

I'd tap that
*downvoted for horrible obvious tap joke* |
I hope this doesn't turn out to be a gimmick but Naka has always had these batshit insane concepts that just actually work. We'll see how this one turns out. Is there an official release date for this?

December Release Date, 5040 yen |
Thinking about it, this could basically work out being a kind of Rhythm Tengoku Wii, except without the quirky Wario Ware-team graphics and the Tsunku music. But if the rest of the music is half as good as that "Let's Tap" song they've been using, I'm okay with that.
Needs to come with more than 2 cardboard boxes though! Where am I going to find more cardboard boxes? |
Try the dumpster of the Toys-R-Us you buy the game at. You'll find plenty of cardboard there; just ask your friendly resident hobo.
