Dunno about you guys but im going to look forward to this anime. I never read the manga but playing as Gintoki as a playable fighter for Jump Superstars caught my eye. I can probably tell that this will be more action and comedy then a deep dark story.

Episode 01 has arrived!. Rejoice , bitches >=]. (Hope this goes well..)

Not sure if anyone herd the news, but apparently Viz is going to run the manga in the SJ according on ANN. This has met we some mixed reviews due to the content of the manga and how they hanndled the preview of it. I guess we'll have to just wait and see if they run an edited version in the magazine and release the unedited volumes. Though I doubt it given Naruto....

I just thought I would let people know incase they're interested in the series. And I didn't want to make another thread just to announce this.

Summonmaster Jul 25, 2006 06:03 PM

Ah so there was a Gintama thread...
I really love this anime, but it's quite a shame that there are only 4 or so episodes that the fansubbers translated so far.
I really like the random nature of the first and daring hour-long episode as well, and all the random topical humour that's always changing.
The anime seems to adapt exactly to the manga so far from the 3rd episode onwards, which seems to be good.

Easily one of my favourite animes, but definitely underappreciated.
Saduharu the 3rd is the cutest disproportionate dog in anime, EVER.

Finally we're getting some Gintama love around here. Bakaneko came back with a present for us. This should've been talked about alot from the beginning though.

I wish it wasn't mp4 -_-..

EDIT: Looks like my interest for this anime is still there. I need more!

Thank you for the update! I was wondering recently, seeing the empty Gintama folder on my desktop, and would have missed this, forgetting to check yesterday's releases. Hopefully, the rate of release will be steadier now.

ZeroSlash Oct 1, 2006 12:51 PM

Is that torrent working for anybody? Every time I try to open it I just get a bad link.

Anyways, yeah I love gintama. I read some of the manga and I was happy when the anime came out. I liked how the first episode was actually something different from the manga than just going straight into it. One of the best quotes ever was when Gintama said he wished he had a bankai.

Summonmaster Oct 2, 2006 08:54 AM

The Gintama torrent works now but I'm getting no seeders since everybody else probably got the same problem the first few times they tried it as well. :s Hopefully someone can put it up for DDL eventually. The series needs more love.

If it's ok for you guys to wait a half hour or something. I'm uploading the episode on sendspace. And another thing. the episode is .avi so you dont have to bother with vlc or core media player (saved the file as .avi so i guess its possible).

edit : Alright. Here ya go.

The torrent started working about three hours after I posted and I had a decent number of seeders. I've already finished it and watched it. I love how all three of them handled the bomb. That was one of my favorite parts in the manga.

A Samurai + Aliens? What a cool idea! I'm a big fan of Samurai Anime and Samurai in general, so I'm definitely going to watch this.

Episode 6 was released a few hours ago.

Does anyone here read the manga? Is it all comedy or do they get serious in some arc?

CuteChocobo Oct 12, 2006 10:58 PM

Umm, the arc doens't really start until Vol 7 in the manga, where they... *can't spoil the story*

But yeah right now it is still introducing everything, and doing some side quests alike.

On the second thought, there isn't much of an arc in the story... just loooonger story thats all :)

Kesubei Oct 12, 2006 11:04 PM

Because this is becoming sort of popular, and also because Kugimiya Rie is in it (Kagura), I'll give this show a try. I just hope it's more entertaining than D.Grayman.

chato Dec 17, 2006 06:21 PM

Damn right it's more entertaining. So far 13 episodes are out by Shinsen. Im currently watching episode 11-12 special which is so far the funniest episode to me. I can't really remember which anime/manga they're making fun of with the doctors but watch'em. SM , you should be too ;p.

Terra Dec 17, 2006 06:38 PM

I wish Shinsen would be releasing the episodes more frequently - it's the only comedy anime I watch and it's pretty awesome, too.

Summonmaster Dec 17, 2006 09:21 PM

No one is seeding 11-12 at this moment and I started the torrent 6 hours ago :s I still find this to be a hilarious series, but I wonder what the delay is? I certainly hope it's not lack of interest or anything! I need more Saduharu the 3rd exposure ;_; and perhaps a bit more of that clutzy ninja girl we saw in the first episode.
