since I'm too lazy to do actual research and my really nerdy friends are all offline, what is the new spyware killing software that all of the kids are using?

I used to use adaware, but now they've made it not free I think that cracking would lead to a world of pain in terms of updates.

any ideas? 8-)

Spybot search and Destroy....

There's also the Microsoft's Anti-adware tool. While it may sound shitty it is actually real good.

Or just use Ad-aware. I have an old version and I haven't had problems with the updates or the program itself. 1.05SE

The Ad-aware Personal edition should be free.

Hrmm, I actually looked there but saw the "free to try" link on the side and assumed they'd gone all trial on us.

But if it's still good I guess I'll just use it again.
