Home Designing Software
Recently I've been obsessed with making sketches of dream-homes in my more boring classes that don't require every ounce of my attention and would like to put them in a digital format because my skill with a pencil is limiting me. I think that AutoCAD is the best home designing software out there from what I've heard, but I'm looking for something more simple... something I won't have to invest a lot of time in learning. If there is nothing out there that fits my description, let me know so I don't waste time searching and just learn AutoCAD. Thanks!

If I may be so bold to suggest it, try Sims 2 for your layout needs - pretty easy to pick up too. :tpg: (Of course you won't get any sketches though!)
There should be a few software packages that does this for you. For example, 3D Home Architect. No idea on the learning curve though. |
Google SketchUp? Fairly intuitive and easy to use. And free.

The Sims crossed my mind as well, but from what my sister could tell me, it doesn't have labels for measurements, which is something I'd really like to have. I'll try Google Sketch when I'm finished with my homework though. Thanks for replying guys.
