Video to .gif converter

I have a video (.wmv) that I would like to transform in an animated .gif but I really don't know a good program that can do this in a good quality.

Anyone know a good way to do this?

use Total Video Converter 3.12

crack:

Send big files the easy way. Files too large for email attachments? No problem!

I don't want to make a new topic, but is anyone using PS CS3 to make .gifs? I figured out how to import .gifs (by changing extension to .mov) but it only imports a single frame :(

I don't want to have to install FW just to make a simple .gif.

Yes, you can!

How to Create Animated Gifs Using Photoshop Cs3 - wikiHow

Do note that you cannot reverse-engineer the process. You cannot open a GIF file and have it all laid out for you. Adobe really wants you to buy Fireworks.

^Ah..so no importing, shucks.

That's not true, Zerg.

Gif work in PS CS3 is a bit odd. In order to import animated gifs you'll need to go to File -> Import -> Video Frames to Layers... and you'll need to actually type a bit of whatever gif you're looking for because the import loader for whatever inane reason doesn't show the gif file type but it will once you type it in the File Name field.

And also, CS3 has this terrible habit of turning any transparency it loads from this import routine into a white background. It really is terrible and I hate it. I'd recommend Image Ready CS2 if you can. I appreciate that Adobe is trying to merge Image Ready into Photoshop but they're doing a really half assed job of doing so.

Here I import :orange: into PS CS3.

I hope that helps. =)

Oh, so the capability is there... in a half-assed manner. I stand corrected.

Still, Adobe did a half-hearted implementation, obviously wanting you to use Fireworks instead. I am quite partial to JASC (now Corel) Animation Shop 3 instead of Imageready myself. Don't do enough GIF works to warrant installing the rather old software though!

I just want to say I acquired Animation Shop recently and it's tons easier than the whole Adobe ordeal :)
