Video encoding questions (XviD4PSP)
I've been into encoding videos lately and I've been wondering what a number of options do. The program I use has no useful built-in help manual and Google searches come up with crap, so I thought I'd ask here and see if maybe a video pro could answer (I'm an audio guy, man, fuck all this video crap lmfao). I'm using XviD4PSP.

I'd go nuts checking all the boxes but I'm not sure if half the things are going to have a positive affect. I can throw in possible values too if that makes it easier. I don't want to have to go find some video forum that looks trustworthy, register an account there, and then hope somebody will respond to me lmao. |
You won't find any easy explanation for all these options. You have to read a lot to understand what the options do:
MPEG-4 - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia H.264/MPEG-4 AVC - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia B-Frame รข€“ Wikipedia MPEG-2 - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Discrete cosine transform - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Context-adaptive binary arithmetic coding - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Motion compensation - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Motion estimation - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia This should cover most MPEG-4 ASP and AVC options. And yes, you will have to find another forum/mailing list for that type of question. Probably you also wanna read some guides on ASP/AVC encoding with different tools. Most of them give advance on activating/deactivating specific options based on the input material (encoding action movies, animes, movies with slow action, etc.) Doom9 is a nice place to ask such questions, they also host a multitude of guides. |
