Quantum Of Solace's Title Song Is By...
Alicia Keys and the White Stripes' Jack White will make movie history by recording the first Bond theme duet for new movie Quantum Of Solace.
The odd couple will team up to perform "Another Way To Die" for the 22nd James Bond movie, which will hit cinemas in November. White wrote and produced the song, and will also play drums on the track, according to reports. Man, times are changing, as long as the opening sequence doesn't suck then I don't care.
|
It's better than Jack Black. =(
THIS is James Bond at its best? Why do they focus the quality ELSEWHERE. The title tune is what defines the movie. |

I thought the quality of a Bond movie was defined by the number of ridiculous sex innuendos contained within the female characters' names.

No, it defines the movie, not its quality, which is done by the girls and some plot thrown here and there and explosions.
It's even more important than the title of the movie (which is horrible too, this time). Think about it. |
Here's what I'm pissed about. The movie will have NOTHING to do with the original book. And the original book would have made an AWESOME movie.

Make me that movie. |

Although the title theme is an important aspect of James Bond, it's the actual music score that makes the film. We can expect David Arnold will be putting in the famed Bond theme in the score this time around since James is now past his first mission as 007. I really enjoyed Casino Royale's score so I can't wait to hear what's in store for the next one :D.

LeHah,
I hear it now that you mentioned that, heh. In other news... The score to Quantum is to be released October 28th. |

I have nothing against either artist - and seperately I'd be interested - but the combo has me a little... concerned?
|
I'm more than concerned. Alicia Keys is completely overrated, and I'm indifferent about Jack White. When I'm in charge, I'll contract Portishead to do a Bond theme.
|
Wait - Alicia Keys and The White Stripes are overrated but you'd hire the most whiney, college-cool band seen since The Pixies? Go clean your fuckin ears out, man.
|
Oh you know their self titled album from 97 just screams "we'd be perfect for a Bond theme." ...far more perfect that an Alicia Keys and Jack White marketing ploy collab.
And whatchu got against the Pixies? |
Well I don't really like it.
|
Good lord, that's beyond terrible. I think they might've been better off with Jack Black, and that's saying something.
|
They should just reuse the Casino Royale one. That one was pretty cool.
|
Seriously what is that crap. If I were in charge of the film and I heard that as the final cut I would have sent White, Keys and Arnold to go back and rewrite it. Keys and White were always a risk, in my view underlining they should have picked skanky Winehouse.
or Should of used this: As camp as they are and it is. It has Bond theme written all over it even the video. (I wouldn't be surpried if it made the final CR reject pile)

At least it wasn't written by U2.
|
At most it was written worse than anything U2 has done in the last decade
|
I think David Arnold should've been involved. He and Cornell wrote a good theme for Royale... this new theme, which David wasn't at all involved in, is horrible and doesn't even sound close to being a Bond title theme. I'm still hoping for Shirley Bassey to return. Now THAT would be something.
