The Last Guy - GOOGLE mappan gaem
 

The upcoming PSN title that's been unrevealed and theorised about for ages now was finally "officially" announced recently. They still refuse to show what the damn thing is all about, but in attempt to get more people with the main theme stuck in their heads, here is a thread.

So yeah, they have a teaser site up, which sadly no longer plays the awesome main theme, but they just now added a promotional video that shows complete nothing of the game. BUT you can hear the theme in it, as well as some of the game around 2:10.


Yes, I have played it and I'm personally looking forward to it. I say it's more awesome than Super Stardust HD. I hope they get around to properly showing people what it's about soon.

Kotaku of all places has the game described. Looks like someone else who also saw the original trailer (that never went public) or played the internal code told them.

For me, I don't acknowledge a game exists until companies actually show it to me. I absolutely hate covert, hush-hush advertising (not accusing you of this, Qwarky).

If you want me to be excited, Sony, show me a fuckin' awesome-looking game.

It would be hard not to be.

Seriously Sony, c'mon. Give me something to like here, this video is exceptionally stupid even for a promo.

I don't know what's going on, but the music playing in the background while the guy's all THE LAST GUY and showing his plate of food sounds a bit like the Popcorn song.

They really weren't kidding when they said they used Google Maps to make this game...

Interesting...the "gathering stuff" mechanic reminds me of Cloud.

Dunno what's up with Sony and the "racism is funny" thing they got going on though.

I've only ever played the first two cities and the internal code I tried had a broken time limit so I only managed to complete a level once (the time never ran our, so the level never ended). So seeing all that new stuff like the black holes and new mutants was a surprise. Still looks wonderfully hilarious. I hope they keep the main guy's cape and scepter.

Finally some actually gameplay footage. I did wonder what this thing looked like.

Can't say I'm wowed by it yet, the idea still sounds a little odd to me. Would be willing to demo it, but all depends if they do that for it.

It definitely looks intriguing, but like PixelJunk Eden I think I'd have to play it before I truly get it.
