Capturing and streaming onscreen stuff

Is there software of some sort that will allow me to stream whatever is on my PC monitor to the interwebs? Like a direct screen-stream type thing.

don't know why but I never figured out fraps despite its simple look.
Look up a program called SnagIt. This lets you record anything off your screen with an optional audio option and it lets you choose a border. Meaning that you get to choose what part of the desktop you want to record.
It's very user friendly with help bubbles that pop up before and after recording. It doesn't have the greatest video quality (I actually haven't messed with the video options) but it gets the job done nicely. Not sure which is the newest version but I have snagit 8

I'm not looking for something to record my screen then save it, I'm looking to stream it directly to others.

You can change the source on WebcamMax to show your screen and it should work with anything that is able to broadcast a webcam (MSN, Yahoo, Stickam, Camfrog, etc.) It has a banner accross the top or bottom of the video feed with the WebcamMax logo until you register or crack it.

Windows Media Encoder 9 has this feature too I think, I've never tried it so I can't say how easy it is. However, I have been able to use it to make a live windows media stream of my webcam before so you could probably use it in conjuction with WebcamMax to make a live media stream showing your screen.

Also, I don't know how either of these work broadcasting video overlays or 3d games and stuff.
