GFF Soundtrack III - Media Centre

I'm covering the Media Centre's portion of this years Soundtrack, so I'd like to hear suggestions on particular songs you all feel would make excellent inclusions.
If possible, please provide links to suggestions so that I can download them, just in case I don't have it already.

Notes: The CD will be 1 disc, with 18-20 tracks, for a total of around 74 minutes. Although I always buy the 80 minute CDs, I feel I should work within the limitations of people who don't.

Submitted tracks should be in mp3 format. I'm not an audiophile whore, so I won't bitch up a storm over bitrates and whatnot. Use common sense; if it sounds of quality to you, then it'll probably be fine to me.

I'm trying to cover all aspects of the Media Centre. This means soundtrack songs from TV and film are good, but I'd also like to include some songs about television, movies, books, radio, etc.
Additionally, songs related to sports and superheroes would be appreciated, as The Back Page and Comicbook Subforum are parts of Media Centre too.

If you do suggest a track and it doesn't make it onto the CD, please don't be upset. There's only so much room and as much as I'd like to include everything under the sun, I just can't. I'm going for a wide variety, so if one track is similar to another, the better of the two will be included.

Also, songs from the previous soundtrack are ineligible. Please refer to this list for to be certain.

Thanks for anyone's help.

I proposed this last year but it didn't make it in.

YSI should be fine since I don't operate my own FTP or anything.

I nominate The Time Warp from The Rocky Horror Picture Show.

Crash "Long-Winded Wrong Answer" Landon Apr 1, 2006 08:05 PM

That is actually a very good suggestion.

Thanks. I was teetering between that and "Sweet Transvestite".

I think the main theme of Requiem for a Dream, either in the opening or closing arrangements, should make some appearance.

Maybe a random song from the soundtrack, even. "The Beginning of the End" is a personal favorite of mine.

Alright finally got it uploaded David Gray - Late Night Radiohttp://www.sendspace.com/file/wy9v7b

Sure it may not have that much to do with ACTUAL radio, but nonetheless.

Oh awesome picks for Smallville Timber. Forgot about those.

Too bad they only used the end credits theme for the first two seasons I believe.

Nominating "Woke Up This Morning" by the Alabama 3, also known as the theme song for the Sopranos. Really a cool song, that should fit well here.

Thanks.

Tappy has ripped the second end credits as well. I can nominate that too if you want :)

How about "Girl, You'll Be A Woman Soon" - Urge Overkill off of the Pulp Fiction Soundtrack?

I don't have this track, Capo. Any possibility you could get it to me?

YO PITTSBURGH MIKE HERE Apr 2, 2006 12:07 AM

I don't have access to the computer it's on right now, but I would be able to get it withing 2 weeks. I don't forsee this being done within two weeks, but if you really need it quicker than that I could just download it on here and send it to you.

Crash "Long-Winded Wrong Answer" Landon Apr 2, 2006 12:24 AM

As long as I get it before the deadline, that's fine. I'll need to evaluate it and see if it's too similar to any other suggestions first. That's the one concern.

Seconding this, though the actual vocal version might be better.

Handsome Boy Modeling School -- The Projects (Ocean's 11).

Botanika -- Pod Luganskom Rodil (Bummer).

Bob Dylan - Stuck Inside Of Mobile With The Memphis Blues (Fear And Loathing In Las Vegas).

Phoenix -- Too Young (Lost In Translation).

Joe Purdy -- Wash Away (Lost).

I've never even heard the vocal version -- I would like to check it out though, if you have it.

I just know that the instrumental version by The Servant was never commercially released, and it sounded great in the Sin City trailer.

Aardark Apr 3, 2006 11:03 AM

You haven't heard it? Okay, here you go:

The Servant -- Cells

(it's good).

Thanks a lot, Aardark.

I'm listening to it now.

I'm not much of a movie soundtrack connoisseur, but I figured I'd come over here and nominate something from James Horner's wonderful A Beautiful Mind score. "Creating Governing Dynamics" is a good track:

I was thinking about nominating "A Kaleidoscope of Mathematics" or "First Drop-Off, First Kiss," but those are a good bit longer.
