New Music Site, "Original Sound Version" Launches

Wanted to let anyone who was interested know that myself and Dale North (of OneUp Studios, etc.) have launched an all-new music blog covering numerous aspects of audio, including games, anime, chipscene, demoscene, production techniques, remixing, gear, etc.

I will, of course, be providing a lot of game music content, so I hope I can enjoy all of your support in the future as I have in the past. I'll keep you guys posted about some exciting interviews that are coming up!

Bookmarked!

(One word postings ftl!)

EDIT: Am I blind or is there really no button to register a username?

You're right! Sorry about that. We'll look into it.

Also, I forgot to mention our tip line! If you read some news or see something cool that you think we should be talking about on the site, feel free to email tips to tips@originalsoundversion.com. Include your name so we can thank you!

I'll let you guys know when the comment thing is sorted out. Thanks!

I just posted about this on Nobuooo

Arcubalis Jun 21, 2008 11:42 AM

Hey, I appreciate it.

Probably doesn't matter though. The person who operates Nobuooo has some long-running grudge against me. Deleted all the posts on Nobuooo about anything at Music4Games as well.

Great job Jayson. It seems like it will be a very fun and interesting blog. I'll check it regularly.

Likewise. It's ridiculous that SEMO, M4G, and OSV have no links. But don't worry Jayson -- you didn't do anything wrong.

Comments are fixed! Sorry about that. Hit the posts!

That kinda pisses me off. I thought Jeriaska was trying to bring the community together. I want to talk to him about this, because I'm not going to put effort into supporting what should be an open VGM networking site if he's going to shut doors on people.

Mr. X Jun 23, 2008 03:58 PM

I've had a lot of experience with Jeriaska and I can safely say that he's a very false and unstable character. He was sacked and deleted from Music4Games for causing endless problems but cannot accept this and insists on blaming me and Jayson. I think his murky history at SquareHaven and Square Enix Music Online shows that he's the problem not the sites he works for. Nobuooo is a really good idea, but it's not a credible resource with Jeriaska behind it.

Arcubalis Jun 23, 2008 04:27 PM

I don't think it's worth it. Definitely don't confront anyone on my account, as I'm done hearing about it. I appreciate your support though, Kaleb.

I think Nobuooo is a great concept, and I'll try to use it as a source and credit it as such whenever I can!

Anyway, this thread is about OSV. So let's keep it on topic, haha.

Nice diverse stuff on the blog so far, I'll keep it in my bookmarks.

And with that, we have our first interview. We speak with Jeff Curry, a jazz musician making a name for himself in the Tokyo jazz scene with credits including Metal Gear Solid 3, The Outer Rim (with No More Heroes music), and the Etrian Odyssey II SUPER ARRANGE VERSION, all in collaboration with Norihiko Hibino.

He's an interesting guy and provides some interesting answers. What do you guys think?
