Feature: Doublepost Prevention

Double posts made within a 24 hour period are automatically merged.

FatsDomino Mar 2, 2006 09:26 AM

Is that so?

Double Post:
Hmmmmm

Double Post:
What sounds better? Double Post or Additional Post? Last time we had Additional Post.

Kaleb.G Mar 2, 2006 11:45 AM

It's not a double post...

Double Post:
...if you do it...

Double Post:
...three times.

Inhert Mar 2, 2006 04:20 PM

yeah I prefer the Additional Post too ^^

Scarletdeath Mar 5, 2006 10:36 PM

Can the time frame for the double post be lowered to say, 12 hours? 24 hours is pretty long for a fast paced forum such as this. I'm sure the time frame in the previous GFF was much lower?

Also, I second "Additional Post".

Eleo Mar 5, 2006 10:40 PM

I liked it before when it said "Additional Post", "Double Post" kind of has a bad connotation. But whatever, I'm glad the feature is back anyway.

Why would anyone be concerned with how many times a person posts?

Why would anyone waste a second devising ways to prevent multiple postings?

This is nonsense.

I also prefer "Additional Post".

It's the small things in life.

Eleo Mar 5, 2006 11:36 PM

Double posting sucks, it takes up extra space on the page and in the MySQL database. It's simply more practical to append additional afterthoughts unto a previous post than to make another post entirely. Why is this nonsense? It was a feature before the forums crashed.

We just want a change of the wording from "Double" to "Additional", as the former has a less pleasant connotation :)
