Quick Time Download?

Whenever I try to download quick time for the main site... it downloads itunes (which I don't need) and no quicktime... so I thought maybe quicktime is part of that file (since I'm such a noob)... now I tried opening a quicktime movie file online... and nope... didn't exist.... now what?

You download this, which lets you play Quicktime without the Quicktime player or iTunes BS.
Works perfectly for me.

For some extraordinary reason, these days, Apple won't let you download and install Quicktime without installing iTunes as well. It doesn't mean that you can't uninstall iTunes directly afterwards though ;)

Crap, well it's made by a 3rd party, so it won't install as well as Quicktime. I downloaded it with the K-Lite Mega Codec Pack, they can cause errors on some systems.
Did I mention you should uninsall all previous QT software beforehand?

Yeah I know but I don't have quicktime in the first place :(... this is VERY weird... got the same error with this one... >.<

What internet browser are you using, perchance? The plugin may be disabled (or somesuch) in Firefox, for example.

firefox... but it's when I try to open the plug-in in desktop that's the error I get
