Anyone using anti mosquito software?

err I just happen to found this unique software from this site (there are also some other software, but I specifically want to ask about KP Anti Mosquitoes.

Quote:

This program produces sound in the range of 16000Hz to 20000Hz which is beyond the audiable range of humans. Pests and other animals can though hear the very same frequency. This sound produces an undesirable effect on mosquitos and other pests thus restrains them from flying.

I can hardly imagine, how author of this tool and anyone out there could get 16KHz+ out of his speakers, but... Moreover, human ear can hear 40HZ to 20KHZ, mosquitos 18k unto 24k, PC loudspeakers can produce sound upto 17/18k.

Hence, the program will probably kill your acoustic, instead of killing the mosquito arround you.

Besides critical thinking, it was proven that these type of things are not effective.

If you still want to try, you can download this software at www.allmosquitos.com/soft/anti-mosquito.rar (3MB)

Please, use the software at solely your own risk. We take no responsibility for any damage, harm etc. whatsoever!
Wonder if has anyone tried it? Is it good or just piece of crap? Also, could it potentially kill our accoustic? I want to try but a bit paranoid about it =/

Just get one of those little gizmos you stick in a power socket. They're designed to emit that kind of frequency. Chances are your speakers are not.

Beyond that there's more mobile buttons one can clip to one's shirt which are next to scentless and are very effective.

I'm tempted to download this just to see if my cats react to it...

I'd let you know if it works on mosquitoes, but they're not out and about yet. I haven't really seen any flies, actually.

This sort of thing has been going around for awhile; it might be fun to try but it surely won't work:
