Man 'targeted by aliens'

A Bosnian man whose home has been hit an incredible five times by meteorites believes he is being targeted by aliens.

Experts at Belgrade University have confirmed that all the rocks Radivoje Lajic has handed over were meteorites.

They are now investigating local magnetic fields to try and work out what makes the property so attractive to the heavenly bodies.

But Mr Lajic, who has had a steel girder reinforced roof put on the house he owns in the northern village of Gornja Lamovite, has an alternative explanation.

He said: "I am obviously being targeted by extraterrestrials. I don't know what I have done to annoy them but there is no other explanation that makes sense. The chance of being hit by a meteorite is so small that getting hit five times has to be deliberate."

The first meteorite fell on his house in November last year and since then a further four have smashed into his home. The strikes always happen when it is raining heavily, never when there are clear skies.

He said: "I did not know what the strange-looking stones were at first but I have since had them all confirmed as meteorites by experts at Belgrade University.

"I am being targeted by aliens. They are playing games with me. I don't know why they are doing this. When it rains I can't sleep for worrying about another strike."
I wonder how many times you could win the lottery vs the odds of your house being hit with meteorites FIVE times. :tpg:

Your mentioning of the lottery brought this Bullshit! scene to mind~

As for the story itself...meh, some drunken alien probably just shot off 5 meteorites into the distance on his stag night. Nothin' to see here. Drunken extraterrestial shennanigans and paranoid Bosnian guys is not news~ :3333:

I also feel obligated to link to another video for lulz.

There's a couple in Canada who has won the lottery at least three times already.

There's a guy building a new home but so far has not been able to because each time he builds it, something horrible happens, like a fire. I can't remember the exact number, but that has happened at least three times so far. I mean, what are the odds of that happening?

Yeah so, it's not really impossible to be targeted by meteorites five times. That guy's just really unlucky.

Uhh no?? The odds of wining a lottery (what's 'the' lottery, anway? different lotteries have different odds) are much higher than having a fucken meteorite land on your house. And having your house burn down is relatively very common.

You're pretty fucking unlikely to get hit by a meteorite, whereas the chances of winning the UK lottery at least are about 14,000,000/1 so blaming this on sheer bad luck is quite a stretch using Wolf's logic.

More likely is that local kids are throwing rocks at his roof.

While I figure your joking, I'm pretty sure meteorites have a certain composition which would identify it from your average, run of the mill backyard stone.

No. Hard Pass. May 13, 2008 07:58 PM

I never said the guy had his house burned down all 3 (or more) times. I said everytime it's being rebuilt, something happens to it, whether it's a fire or it's crushed by a falling tree or whatever. Either some otherworldy forces hate his soon-to-be-house or he just has some bad luck. As far as I know, he's still trying to have it built.

Of course threre's a higher chance of winning the lottery, but this particular couple won 3 times in just several years. While it's entirely possible this could happen to you, it's not a normal occurrence.

You'd think he'd move house, despite the cost.

He must have a... magnetic personality!
*gets hit with a rock*

But seriously, maybe there's some sort of composite material underneath or nearby his house that's causing the meteorites to graviate towards him? Or was he also stuck by meteorites while at the store or something?
Very long odds though, most people don't get struck by falling rocks ONCE.

I was watching a Nat Geo special on meteorites today too. Weird.

You'd figure they'd burn up on the atmosphere, but it doesn't always happen.
