Same old song and dance: computer gets too hot, my CPU fan is too loud
As with every computer I've ever owned, I have two problems with my current rig: it's too loud, and summarily it's too hot. Of course, it doesn't help that I'm in a non-air conditioned room on the second floor of a two story apartment, but it's only 70 degrees in here and I'd hate to know what will happen when things get into the 90s around here and I get into a game of ProEvo2008. My previous computer was liquid cooled and the radiator fan wasn't as loud as this CPU fan from Intel.
So, aside from not playing any games at all, can someone make some recommendations? For what it's worth, I have two case fans that likely aren't doing shit either, but I've never heard of a case fan that does a great job. I'm guessing the overall issue is just poor ventilation. Here's my case, for interested parties. It has one of those side vents for the CPU fan, but it's not straight on with the fan, but I'm guessing that's not a big issue.
