What star trek technology would you most like to have in your house at the exclusion of all others?

Would you like a transporter that could send you ANYWHERE? One of those machines that you say the name of whatever food or material thing into and it appears? Or perhaps the ultimate nerd prize... the holodeck~ Imagine all of the alien prostitutes you could handle, except that you can't take anything that you find in there out.

Ok go. If you have any better ideas from episodes I haven't seen then I'd like to hear about it. Also don't come in here and tell me you haven't thought about it.

I want the holodeck, because although you couldn't take anything out. Representations of the craziest things you could imagine would be awesome. Although I'd probably just spend all day making it mix the hilarious attributes of different animals and then have them fight each other to the death for my entertainment.

i'd like a transporter please. think of all the time i've could've saved, all the conventions and seminars that i wouldn't have to pay money for, and generally the luxury of laughing at those paying to fly.

Seeing as how I've never watched Star Trek and know well... nothing about it aside from the fact that it looks like a sit com in space. I'll say the transporter.

Even though I am not a Star Trek fan, a transporter to go anywhere where I want to go? HECK YES!!!

Transporter? Bah! I'd never set foot in one of those contraptions. Give me a Holodeck any day.

I'd like to have the Starship Enterprise. Sure beats public transportation.

Holodecks would be incredible. You could create your own world or meet anyone in history or even go to another place in time.

Transporters too would be phenominal, but that technology has to be safe/tested before I could ever go into one. I do not want my pattern to be de-materialized, lawl.

Seeing that some of you guys already picked the Holodeck-- I would choose the Delta Flyer so I can fly over and raid your Holodecks. And as far as I can tell it also comes with its own handy-dandy transporter and food replicator.

I can't do that? :( Ok, if there's one piece of technology I could take from the series and make it real it would be their warp engine technology. Provided I could retro fit it to a ship of some kind I'd literally travel to the stars and back within 24 hours.

Well, why should I take anything out there when I can easily live inside. The only thing you'll need from the outside is enough power to run it forever :D

Those sonic showers would be another intressting technology.

Since several have said the transporter or holodeck already, I think I'd go with the food/drink thingy. Who needs an oven or a microwave, or even a fridge or freezer with something like that? Saves a lot of room, too.

Now what to do with all the dishes/silverware it'd create.. :eye:
Maybe I could program it to put the food on paper plates/bowls with plastic utensils.

You can just put the dishes back into it and it breaks them back down into their component atoms, anyway.

Actually, I wouldn't mind having one of those hand-held phasers. (Not phase pistol, a phaser, which seems to be a more souped-up version of a phase pistol. Yes, I looked it up to make sure I had the right name/object; who's the geek now? :tpg: ) The uses for it are practically endless!

Before you know it we'd have T-shirts that say "DON'T PHASE ME, BRO". :riiight:

Id have the Holodeck. To be able to escape anywhere would be awesome and do anything without leaving the comfort of your home....Oh yeah awesome ^^

Well I was torn between replicators and Holodeck. I woudlnt be able to choose if I had to to be honest.

Holodeck has to be the default answer here, because -- according to the show -- you can command it to reproduce any other piece of technology anyway.

I have no self-control so the holodeck and the replicator are both out (I'd live in the former and eat myself to death on the latter... mmm... death by strawberries). The transporter would take away my will to exercise so I think I'd take the medi-bay. Not only would I be able to cure practically any malady, I could use the technology to seal my enemie's arses shut ( <3 Scott Adams).

...and beam anyone waiting for the Holodeck in front of me into a concrete wall. :) The sudden insertion of any Star Trek tech in today's society would result in the end of civilization as we know it :tpg:

Unfortunately, due to the nature of holodeck matter, none of the technology the holodeck reproduces can be used or even exist outside of the holodeck. Unless it's made of water.

I'm going to be different and say Dominion bioengineering technology. Not only does it offer effective immortality through clones, but I'd be able to deal once and for all with the unending swarms of adbots that come here by attacking their masters with unending swarms of Jem'Hadar.

Not much of a Trekkie, so, if the replicator thingy can replicate stuff other than fod (say, diamonds, gold, winning lottery tickets), I'd go for it. :D

If not, gimme a phaser and I'll rule ze verld!
