Has your government tried to control pr0n?

Just wondering guys, just recently, the government in my country, has banned youtube because of the Fitna. Also, a new law will be passed soon, it contains explicit regulation toward porn sites and such. Their main premise is just like the classical "moar pr0n = bad moral", they act as if they are representative of god or something and have the right to control what we want to see.

I just couldn't stand it. I guess this is consequence when you are living in non-secular country. Sigh.

Anyway, has same thing occurred in your country before? Has there been any attempts or law passed to control such things like this?

I really despise this, everyone would do, but these conservatives faggots, they think what they say are divine orders. Sexuality, pornography, who could possibly control that? I think it's all return to oneself.

That's pretty unfortunate. What country do you live in?
Say what you will about Ayn Rand, I like stance her stance on government control, namely: citizens must limit their government's power, not the other way around.

I live in Indonesia, cellius. Even though most moslems here are moderate, few are conservatives, and they are the ones who got the biggest influence to control the government.

The only control of porn that I know of here in the States is child pornography. Everything else is pretty much fair game, as long as it's not shown to minors.

Well, I live in a country that is non-secular too. But the dickheads for leaders -at least- don't try to mess with moral stuff.

Maybe the fact that prostitution is kinda legal helps... but who knows.

In any case, good luck with that man.

There has been quite discussion to legalize prostitution and casino, and unfortunately, the idea was rejected because the moslem conservatives elites, who interpreted the Koran as they wish. They said it's aganist. It's sad fact, because most moderate people here actually go for the idea.
