Strange burner problem....
 

Okay, recently my DVD Writer has begun to cease functioning. It "used" to work fine, and then stopped burning CD's, but still burnt DVD's fine. I got sent a new burner ( exact same model ) and installed it, now it fails both CD's and DVD's in the "Lead out" phase at the beginning of every burn.

I run XP SP2, Phillips brand DVD Writer (DVD-R 1628P1 to be precise ), and have no clue whats going on. It's not just Nero either, as it's failed in Alcohol and the default windows program.

Any suggestions?

What cdr/dvdr are you using? Its possible if you are using cheap disks that they are a bit crappy.
Have you tried burning at a slow speed?
Any programs running in the background that may effect cds/dvds (anydvd for example)?
