Windows doesn't recognize second SATA drive
I've got two drives connected via SATA. My BIOS confirms that there are two drives, taking up two SATA ports. However, Windows only shows one drive.
Am I supposed to do some special kind of partitioning so the drive shows up? I'm actually surprised that a SATA drive was even recognized at all, since this is a brand new setup. Additional Spam: Nevermind. Had to partition the drive through Computer Management. |
edit: nevermind, was typing when you edited your post.
Which version of Windows are you using? (And within Windows, the second drive doesn't appear in Device Manager or the drive manufacturer's diagnostic software?) Are you attempting a RAID configuration? Have you tested any of the other SATA ports on the motherboard? Have you installed the drivers that came with the board? |
