Sticky: Maximum post character limit
 

While we're on the topic of increasing signature size so that a few people can make disgustingly huge sigs, I say we should up the post character limit from 100,000 characters to 1,000,000 characters, so a few people can have disgustingly huge posts to go with their sigs.

I am so tired of being limited to only a 100,000 character essay post! I want 10 times this! If I put effort into my posts and find out I need to trim down what I"m saying to 100,000 characters, I feel CHEATED. AND HATED. People with short attention spans are clearly living in the PAST. They need to get with the times and read some fucking novel posts.

While we're at it why don't we come up with some clever word filters to take advantage of this new character freedom! IMAGINE! For every usage of the word 'the' you would get to read Atlas Shrugged by Ayn Rand! =D

They should put back the 256,000 limit for poll options too.

What if someone wants to post the Old Testament or something like this? 1,000,000 is a nice beginning, but let's increase the limit to 100,000,000. We need more posts huge like XBOX, why lie.

Really 1MB sized posts would be a large waste of server space. Imagine, only 10,000 of those would be needed to consume nearly 10GB server space. And 100million charcter posts? How freaking long would that take to load? Even 1MB text files take a little while to load on Comcast.

I like how segaurlwhatevs in taking this seriously. Internet.
