Anyway to run DOS games on XP?
I'm curious about this since I still have various old PC games that I would like to be able to play, but well I can't. I've heard of DOS emulaters but the last one I looked at seemed kinda confusing to me. Any tips?

Use DOSBox or DOSEMU. I usually use DOSBox (which is a full emulator, compatiblity is quite high though). If you're planning to play some more CPU intense games you might want to try DOSEMU, which virtualizes most of the hardware (like the CPU).
Another option is using VDMSound, ScummVM (if the game is supported) or VMWare with a FreeDOS setup. |
Here's a how-to for DOSbox (haven't checked in a while, but there's a simplified frontend for it called D-Fend which isn't updated anymore but may still work), and I'm definitely in support of the virtual machine approach. Microsoft has its own free one which will do the trick.
