Dielectric grease and my SNES?

So the connecting pins where the games slide into are worn out and if you bumb the console or yank the controller in the least bit, the game freezes or resets.

I was wondering if I could use dielectric grease to somewhat stabilize the connections, or if the grease is conductive enough to lead to shorting between the pins.

Alternatively, if I can get a screwdriver to get this thing apart, is there a product that I can recoat the terminals with to do the job more professionally?

I'm not sure about SNES, but for NES it's more cost-efficient to just put in a new 72-pin connector which you can find on Amazon for a few dollars. I would assume there is a similar solution for the SNES.

I will look into that for sure. Sounds ideal. But I'd still like to know what's feasible for my original question.

Dielectric grease doesn't really get hard enough to repair a problem like this. I bet within putting in and pulling out a few games you'll be back to square one on your problem.
