That's pretty sad even though I'm not really a Swayze fan. I'm sure fans of Dirty Dancing (women) will be upset to hear this.

That would include my mom. She loves Dirty Dancing... I wonder how she'll take the news?

That's definitely terrible news, imagine if someone told you that you had a month to live. I don't know what I'd do, although I bet Patrick will probably be spending his remaining time with friends and family. Never really cared for the guy's acting, but I didn't really dislike him either.

That's weird, because I just recently met somebody who is apparently engaged to Swayze's sister/half-sister or something.

Guess he won't be attending the wedding. LOLZ!

Ok, I stand corrected. The New York Post is reporting his rep confirmed he does indeed have terminal cancer and may very well have only weeks to live.

My grandma died from pancreatic cancer, so I've seen first hand that it is not a fun death, and it can go from perfectly fine to death VERY quickly. This really sucks.

The good news is, the 5 weeks to live thing is apparently bullshit, and they're all optimistic about his health.

Yes, as if the rest of us were walking around, massaging our temples - confident - simply waiting . . . waiting . . . for the news that Patrick Swayze has pancreatic cancer so that we could slowly turn to face society, flash a smug grin, and say "I told you so."

Never been a fan of him, but this totally sucks anyways. He is not a bad actor and worked in pretty decent movies. I mean, he did POINT BREAK MAN!!!! Fucking POINT BREAK!!!

The irony of this is that probably he's going to get more job offers than ever. You know, sadly the title "Swayze's last movie" is probably tempting many producers now :( .

Sucks though =( I couldn't give two shits about Ledger (particularly because it was a suicide. Plus Swayze is evidently quite normal unlike 99% of Hollywood. My brother met him about a month back), but this upset me. Whether it's going well or not, cancer is cancer. Ahh well.

As far as actors go he was pretty indifferent for me, but it sucks all the same. Rest in Peace Mr. Swayze.

Look, he wasn't my man. I just thought he was too old and too square. But he lasted a hell of a long time, and that's worth respect. My prayers are with his family.

Sad day. Not really a fan of Dirty Dancing, but he was still a great actor. Initially didn't believe the news considering I first saw it on SA of all places.

Nothing's more awful than a long and drawn-out illness. Saw that he took to smoking pot to alleviate his pain in his final months. Can't wait to see Fox News claim that he died from an overdose while tripping on reefer grass.
