[X360] Gamertags and Consoles
 

I didn't want to put this in the gaming section, mostly because it's hardware related, not really to the games. Maybe this should go in Help Desk, though. Move it over there if that's the case. ANYWAY~

I'm thinking about picking up an Xbox 360 in the near future. And I just have a quick question or two. I will most definitely be sharing the console with my brother, however I don't want to share Gamertags with him; mostly because I want to collect my own Achievements and all that. Can you switch out tags, or log in/out of them easily, or will a console only link with one tag?

Also, about Xbox Live Silver/Gold, is it linked to the console or the tag? Basically, what I'm curious about is if a console DOES support multiple tags, will I be able to [for example] use Gold on my tag, but Silver on his?

Yes, Gamertags are basically profiles for the Xbox 360 which all non-system settings and achievements are stored. You can even set a password for the tags so you don't have to worry about others logging in with your profile. Gold and Silver access are on an account basis, not a system basis.

Basically, I'm planning on using the Gold trial on my account to test it out. I'd rather not pay for two Gold accounts... If he wants one too, he can buy it himself. :P
