Printer on Desktop?
I recently reformatted, and switched back to Windows XP from Vista. Not really interested in talking about the reasons why, but in any case... I installed my printer/scanner [it's an all-in-one] drivers yesterday. And now, on my desktop, is this:
http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c6...ky/printer.png It's an icon that I can't seem to get rid of. I can't delete it for whatever reason, and it doesn't show up in my 'Documents & Settings/User/Desktop' folder either. I can't figure out how to get rid of it. It's never been there with previous installs, either. Any ideas? |
EPSON scanners usually have a settings panel in the Classic View of the Control panel that allows you to place them either on the desktop or in the "My Computer" window. You should probably check there first and see if there's a setting you can fiddle with in there to remove it or edit it.

It's listed under 'Scanners and Cameras' in the Control Panel, but double-clicking opens the 'scanner wizard' to run the scanner. Right-clicking > Properties opens a window, but the only thing I get is a button to test the scanner, and the colour management options.

Stupid question, but does dragging and dropping that icon into the recycle bin work?
|
No, I get the 'unavailable' cursor when I try that. Nothing happens. :/
Additional Spam: Hm. I don't know what I did, but it's gone. Mods, could you close this? Problem 'solved'. |
