Getting rid of dark circles under eyes

I've had dark circles under my eyes for a long time, probably because of lack of sleep (just can't get myself to sleep at regular times), but anyways I figured there must be something I can do to get rid of them or at least mask away them discreetly. So, I need to know of if there's any good solutions to this, preferably something that doesn't involve lots of makeup :tpg: I know, primarily I should be fixing my sleep problem, but I've tried lots of times already without success.

Apparently there are some vitamin creams you can put on them, but you'd have to be a queer to do something like that.

I'd just keep rocking them like Jeremy Irons.

This is actually a coincidence, since I woke up today looking like the Joker.

Sleep is the best solution. Past that, a thin layer of makeup should do the trick. I've used it to cover up last-second shaving mishaps before. You barely need any, and in fact too much is a bad idea.

Are you allergic to anything (dust, mite, or dampness)? I've heard that sometimes dark circles under eyes is a sign of allergy.

My dark circles are also very clear to see under my eyes... and I'm blaming my body rather than my sleep hours ever since I've heard this allergy theory. I'm allergic to many things and my runny nose is often triggered by dust or change in air dampness or temperature.

I remember only noticing slight dark circles under my eyes during a week where I had five midterms. But after recovering from the general stress and catching up on sleep, they vanished.

If your dark circles are especially bad, using a powder-based concealer should do the trick.

Agree with arainach. What you actually need is sufficient hours of sleep. and all's gonna be okay.

Btw, I've heard (only heard) that slices of cucumber might help.

Get arround about 10 hours of sleep a day for shit I dont know, a year? It'll go away by then.

Pile cream FTW.
(Apparently this is what all the models use, so don't mock untill you've tried it).

Okay, I'm Swedish so I'm not quite sure what pile cream is/translates to. Could someone explain to me what it is?

It's a type of haemorrhoid cream. A haemorrhoid is essentially when a little bit of your arse falls out.
Anal problems - piles

Sleep more. Gamingforce less.

If your sleeping pattern is that ruined you might as well resort to using sleeping pills, or pulling an all nighter and sleeping at about 6 pm. Chances are you'll wake up early the next day.

Oh sounds nasty to have to put that stuff under your eyes :tpg: I dunno if I'll do just that, but I found a great site with some info and a few home remedies that I'll be trying out.

I really will be trying to get more sleep from now on too as it will probably only do me good.

While at home the other week I was looking at various pictures of the family hanging around the house and I noticed that as far back as preschool I actually had really dark circles under my eyes. So, for me, I'm quite sure it's not a problem stemming from lack of sleep.

I've been told by a doctor or two that it's caused by an allergic reaction in some people (which causes the capillaries underneath the eye to swell/burst giving the purplish color). Of course, they couldn't give me any advice on how to rid myself of them permanently, and they couldn't find anything I was allergic to which could be causing them, so whatever. =\

I've also heard putting cold packs over your eyes can help reduce their appearance since they are a sort of swelling in your face.

Heard that as well. Chilling a cup of water, placing a spoon inside, and then applying that to my eyes seems to help, especially after a long night. Doesn't give dramatic results all the same, though.

take naps if you can. I find if I don't get my 7/8 hours then somehow i pull a hour or 2napper

Of course when you work it's not possible or a good idea - lol

other than that I'm stumped. I think the dark circles start early for a lot of people like around 23 or so.
And for fewer people a dark circle is larger than the other eye. This looks pretty ugly.

I heard Hemroid Cream works for bags under the eyes, but not sure about the dark circles. I assume over-sleeping now after years of neglecting proper amounts of sleep wouldn't do much, so I say at least give it a try.

Elegy Jan 16, 2008 01:36 PM

I used to be in your shoes, nanaman. I used to have really dark circles under my eyes since I've always had a really hard time sleeping. I usually get plenty of sleep now, but they're still there somewhat. I never tried to do much about it since I honestly just don't care very much and I hate makeup.
