The Perfect Sub/Sandwich ...
 

Now we all know that to make the perfect sub, you have to add toppings, I was thinking, what if you wanted to make a sub at home, you know for dinner or lunch, what toppings would you add to make that perfect sub or sandwich ?

The perfect sub at home :
Slices of cookham, bacon, mayonaise, shredded marble cheese, lettuce, bread and butter pickles, peices of chicken, pineapple peices, and slices of tomatoes.

Th perfect sandwich at home : (Just the regular ol BLT toasted sandwich) (bread toasted) Bacon, lettuce, sliced tomatoes, and mayonaise.

I've always had an affinity for the italian sub. Olive oil, redwine vinegar, provolone, prosciutto, capicola, salami, lettuce, tomato, white onions, sweet bell pepper strips, and hot banana pepper rings with salt, pepper, and oregano to season.

There is this small deli I go to for lunch every day for school. This sandwich is god. It's called the Rated R. Roast beef, mozzerella cheese, bacon and bbq sauce on a garlic roll.

Exactly.

Whenever I'm going all out for a sub, I want the Italian-style sub. Prosciutto is the god of meats, and there's nothing better than that, provolone, and salami with olive oil.

Why even eat anything else, except for maybe turkey subs, I ask you.

The perfect sub sandwich for me consists of the following:

- extra lettuce
- shredded carrots
- alfalfa (or however you spell it)
- sliced cucumbers
- red onions
- pepper jack cheese
- honey mustard dressing
- shaved chicken deli meat

All of this is set on either wheat bread or italian bread. Yummy! :)

However, if I were to make one, my perfect sandwich would consist of the following:

-Lettuce
-Tomato
-Deli meat (Turkey)
-Alfalfa sprouts
-Swiss cheese
-Rye bread
-A little bit of Italian dressing

It's nothing too fancy. :(

I don't think I've ever made a sub at home before. In fact, I don't even eat subs all that often. It's sort of hard to bite into them with braces.

Nothing beats an authentic Philadelphia Cheesesteak. The crap they sell at various pizza stores around the country and the chain restaurants do their best to duplicate the taste, but none come close to the perfection that is a real one. <3

(Chicken cheesesteaks also get an honorable mention.)

While I do enjoy a good cheesesteak, I'd take a genuine Primanti Bros. steak and cheese sandwich over it anyday. It's so delicious. Plus, how can a sandwich with FRENCH FRIES in it not win?

Steak & Cheese straight up with nothing added to it (bread of course :p )

I must say, Capo picks the winner. I have been fortunate enough to partake in one of these myself. It's THE sandwich.

I just go to Subways and order this:

Footlong Italian Herbs & Cheese Bread
BMT assembly of meats: Salami, Ham, Pepperoni
Provolone Cheese
Lettuce, Tomato, Olives, Onions.
Vinegar & Oil.
Totally worth the money...........

If I home make a sandwich, this is what I usually make:

On a oiled frying pan:
Toast 2 slices of bread (Any kind, the bread is a minor factor for taste here.)
Pour in easy-over egg mixture. Cook to a controlled pancake-like shape. (Small enough to fit the bread slices.)
Throw in 2 slices of 1.5" X 3" Spam. Redden both sides.

Starting from the bottom bread slice:
Place both pieces of spam to fit the bread shape.
Place egg slice ontop, drizzle ketchup to desired amount.
Toss on that top bread slice and eat.

What's it called? I don't know, Egg'n Spam sandwich? I usually call it a egg'n ham sandwich.

And Takahashi, I didn't know they still had D'angelo shops around. I miss that place. THEY MAKE THE ABSOLUTE BEST SANDWICHES!

This is easy for me since the subs I eat are practically sandwiches. Just some turkey, some provolone (sp?), some salt, some Italian bread, and mayonnaise. I can easily make that as home, minus the Italian bread. This makes it both the perfect sub and prefect sandwich.

I personally never had sub. Anyone got easy-step-by-step recipe for this? Like seriously, I wanna try it...

There's really nothing to it. It's merely a sandwich made with a long roll instead of sliced bread (I'm assuming you know what a sandwich is). Basically take what ever meat you like, and some vegetables like lettuce, tomato, or pepper, or spinach or whatever just as long as it is flat enough to keep the sandwich together, and any condiments you'd like and lay those on a long roll. And there's a sub.

My favorite sub is a pepperoni one made by my local pizzeria. I have it with provalone cheese, letteuce, tomato, onions, peppers and mayonnaise. It is very tasty. By the way, do you guys call subs by a different name? I call them grinders, and I know most people do too up here in New England. But anyone else call them hoagies or po' boys or anything like that?

... I want a sub now >.< damn I got no long bread.

Holy shit man, they don't have Primanti's in Canada, do they? Or do you mean you had one here in Pittsburgh? (If so, why were you here? Pittsburgh is the most boring city outside of Ohio.)

It was a few years back, so damned if I know which one I went to. As for which sandwich, I believe it was the "Pitts-Burger Cheese Steak". Good eatin'.

Subway's Sweet Onion Chicken Teriyaki.

Footlong on Italian Herbs and Cheese. Toasted with Lettuce, Tomato, Pickles, Olives, Cucumbers, and the Sweet Onion Sauce.

Hmm... today I bought some long bread and decided to add some stuff I like.

I added bulgogi as main meat toping >.> it was amazing.

You're crazy... Bulgogi? WTF man, you don't make sandwiches out of that! Although you technically can make a sandwich out of anything, but dude! That's just wrong! Don't tell me forgot melochi and kimchi, right? SOUP UP ON THE GOUCHUJJANG!

Oh shit, I should add gochozang as the main toping >.> Dude, try bulgogi on your sub... It rocks. (There are bulgogi burgers in Korea.)

Anything from Quiznos is usually nothing short of a perfect sub.
