best antivirus?
hello, experienced tech user.
Can anyone recommend what they would consider the best antivirus out there? I liked AVG when I used it, but I'm planning on buying a full version now, and want the best. Kaspersky? Norton? AVG? Avast? I really don't know, they all seem to do the same thing! |

I've been using Avast! for the past year or so and had no problems with it. The likes of Norton and McAfee tend to be resource whores so I'd stay well clear of those two.
|
Alright, well I like kaspersky but won't have money to buy it for now, it's more expensive than I thought. I downloaded a torrent, but it seems like I can't get updates....is there any way around this that you guys might know of? I'm having the same problem with spysweeper. =(

Maybe your have key expired,if want new key tell me i'll upload it.

Get F-Secure, it will take all of your resources, leaving none for viruses to work in.
Downside is, it does that for usefull applications too. Ok, seriously. I'm using AVG myself, and haven't really found anything to complain about. |

AVG I found was slower, used more resources and didn't detect as many things. Norton just don't go there switiching over was the best thing ever, |
Nothing compares to NOD32.

I have used AVG for years. I switched to it after I graduated as I was not allowed to use my University's antivirus.
I have no real problems with AVG. It's free, easy-to-use, and seems to do the job. The only time I can think of slow down is when it finds something. Then it takes quite a while and everything slows down. But I guess that's worth it for the purpose it provides. Just make sure you update it. |
I recommend NOD32. It takes very little ram and I find it very effective.
