Question regarding Japanese Law on marriage

I just finished playing this game called 'Kana - Little Sister' and it left me curious about the Japanese laws on marriage.

Supposing this girl is adopted by a family and this family already has a son. Son and daughter grow up as siblings, albeit not blood-related to each other. Later, son and daughter, knowing that they aren't blood-related, fall in love with each other and wants to get married... can they do so? I mean, are there any legal implications regarding this?

About the game I was playing... this is an earlier thread in Gamingforce that introduces it.

I imagine you'd be alright, just as if you were married to someone and then your parents married each other.

But in this case, you'd still be fucking your loli sister and not your wife.

Someone has a hot adopted sister. Incest is incest. And you'd still be dipping your dick in your sister.

But she's not really my sister, I swear!

She's at least 18 though. J-list has you covered:

I had an (wiki calls it like that) "Intellectual Ending"... Ending 4, "Snow"

Spoiler:
"Oh I want to see it snow..."
She dies while the snow started to fall

Never played it again to bump my way through - I mostly tried to ..
well.. I don't know.

Planetarian is still saddening - at least the mid-part; the ending isn't...but..well.

To slayer25k: I managed to get all 6 endings, the 1st one being the true ending. Easily one of the most touching games I have ever played... I have never cried so much when playing a game before. :(

As to the comments above... ya, in the game she is of legal age, though I am actually more concerned about whether it is legal in Japan for non blood-related siblings to marry each other.

Reminded you that much of your loli sister?

Haha no, I do not have a loli sister. It is the theme of life and death in the game that touched me... a terminally ill person, learning to accept her impending death, therefore trying to cherish and live her short life to the fullest.

Does she die of aids?
