No room for Video Card (PCI-E)
I just got a new video card, 8600GT, and I have a Emachine (wtf is that?), and I do have PCI slots. But the golden needles or w/e dont have enough room to fit. Is there anything I can do other than buying a new computer/selling the card? =(
Any help is appreciated! =D *desperate* |
The 8600GT doesn't use a PCI slot, it uses a PCI-E slot. Do you have a model number of your computer or motherboard? E-machines is a low-end retail computer, so chances are that its motherboard doesn't have PCI-E slots. In addition, you're probably going to need to upgrade the power supply if you want to run that card.

Oh wow, I'm an idiot. I should have opened my computer first to check what video card it can handle. Yeah, it can only handle PCI. Is there any way to convert to PCI-E, an adapter to have an external video card? ><
Do you recommend buying a new mother board just for it? shit, im an idiot. WRONG forum .___. |
