Good website for artwork
Does anyone here know of a good website where I find works of art?
The masterpieces so to say? or a place I can look at a fine art to study it and learn about each piece in detail? Thank you |
deviantart is a gold mine

Deviantart is a piece of shit. And he said the CLASSICS. Not furry or fan art.

Just search for specific artists or artworks on Google or Wikipedia (sometimes the Wikipedia articles would usually have some links in them). That's what I usually do.

Fine, fine. SHE said the classics, then. My point stands.

DeviantArt DOES have good stuff. You just have to dig for it. For example: There's some people on there who have done artwork in the style of Alphonse Mucha, or Traditional Landscape Paintings, or what-have-you.
Here's a few I've come across: Art cyclopedia: The Fine Art Search Engine - Search by period, style, artist, keywords, etc., artnet - The Art World Online - More of the Business Side of things, such as Auctions & Market Tracking. Main Page - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia - Examples on artwork can be found on the website, although not really a resource, but more of a "this is the style of this artist" kind of pictures. Main Page - Wikimedia Commons - Has a lot of public domain stuff if you're looking to the 19th century and back. Gallery Today.com - Online Fine Art Gallery - Original oil paintings for sale, abstract, landscape - FTWS: "A selective collection of original paintings for sale signed by highly talented artists in different countries worldwide. We only exhibit professional artists from all over the world, saving your precious time and money in searching out beautiful original paintings in physical art galleries worldwide." The Metropolitan Museum of Art - Works of Art - Dozens of online art museums like these have stuff as well. I'm sure you'll be able to find something in all that. |
