Vista crack to allow Windows updates

I'm installing Vista Business on a friend's computer and want it to receive updates. Of course I don't have a legit copy, though I'm using this "OEM BIOS Emulation Toolkit For Windows Vista x86 v1.0" to get it "activated." Will this (or another) crack allow him to use Windows updates? Or am I outta luck here?
