Question about using Vista on a seperate drive for DX10 gaming
I've got an 8800GTS, but I run XP. Alot of DX10 games are starting to come out now, but I'm not willing to swtich to Vista just yet. I thought a good idea would be to buy another SATA drive, install Vista on it, and use that just for DX10 games. Does any one have any experience with this? Specifically, I have a few questions.
#1) Would the simplest method be to have Vista on another drive, and just dual boot? #2) How easy is it to run a pirated copy of Vista? Can I get around the activation, ignore it, hack it, or what? #3) If I have, say, some games installed on harddrive A, and Vista installed on harddrive B, could I run those games in the Vista environment from harddrive B? (I'm thinking not, because if those games were isntalled through XP, the required system files would be written to harddrive A). Any insight would be appreciated. Thanks! |
1-just install it on other driver and will be work as dual boot(vista and xp)
2-install it without put serial, and there crack to make activation too easy.(if you want it,I can upload it) 3-No,you can't. |
Awesome, thanks. I'd love any material you have on running an illegitimate copy of vista, so if you have time, I'd be interested in that.

In fact I've ran into some thread in another forum where people would install a game, rar it up and extract the files in another location or even on another computer. It was surprising to see many of them worked fine, both old and new (UT99, FEAR, Battlefield 2, Warcraft 3, etc.) You'd need a no cd crack for most of them to work properly I guess. |

Also, thanks for the upload RYU. |
I have a question. I grabbed the crack and unzipped it and immediately AVG anti virus said it was a trojan. What's up with that?
|
Hmm, I haven't opened it yet. Where did you get this crack from, RYU?
|
A. RYU wanted to screw you up.
B. RYU is screwed. Edit: psss... almost forgot the other option. C. Tacos. |

Easiest way to dual boot is to partition your hard drive.
download Partition Magic from wherever. It'll keep you from have to open up your computer every time you want to switch OSes. |
Yeah I already have good partioning software, but I think it would be better if I install it on a completely separate drive.
