Wireless Internet Woes
I just set up wireless internet in my home with Comcast. My roomate and I connected it to a Linksys Access Point to it and now I am getting a great connection on my Laptop.
My roomate, on the other hand, gets a Limited or no Connectivity message. He's running Windows XP on his Acer Aspire 3000 and we're not really sure why he can't get internet. His comp just won't connect. This seems like such an easy thing to fix, but I'm not sure how to google this problem and I don't know what to do. Any help would be great, thanks! |
Try setting the computer to obtain an IP address automatically. Right click on the network connection -> properties -> Select Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) and hit properties.

Well it was already set to do that and we just tried taking off the Firewall as well and that didn't work. (We also restarted the computer as well, if that's relevant)

Can he connect to other wireless networks?
|
Well, according to him. He thinks its the fact that its a Linksys Access Point.

I don't know if Wireless Access points give out unique IPs or not, but that could be the problem.
