Mario Galaxy Interview: Kondo and Yokota

So, here it is. We got an interview with Koji Kondo and Mahito Yokota. Let me know what you think!

Kondo and Yokota.

First of all, thanks for the nice interview, Arcubalis. :)

Given the time and money that’s going into orchestrating and recording pieces for the score for Super Mario Galaxy (and the recent The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess) [...]
Twilight Princess had orchestral music? I thought it was at first planned but then not realized? (Don't hit me but I haven't played the game yet)

That Kondo-san is currently more visible is enjoyable despite it seems he is very shy (remembering to his little interview on stage of Mario & Zelda Big Band Live Concert). A little hope to see him in Leipzig in the next years.

Yeah, then let us pray that a 2 CD soundtrack will be published (but I'm not so optimistic about that).

There's only a few orchestrated tracks on TP. There's the teaser music for the demo after the title screen & the main Hyrule theme (when you're on Epona; on foot is MIDI). I can't remember if there was any others.

I've heard most of the music from this game and it's really good so far. Can't wait to experience them first hand.

That made me sad. I would love for Kondo to go back to composing primarily. He hasn't done much since Majora's Mask. Sure, he oversees the projects, but I would love at least one final Mario/Zelda outing from him.

I agree. I do not understand why Kondo didn't insist to compose more tunes for the game! But anyway, it would be interesting to know exactly which four compositions he made.

Cogo,

I keep wondering that myself. I have an idea, though. He said they were four important ones... and I doubt they were the arrangements of previous SMB stuff. I'd imagine the one we heard in the orchestral recording session video, the first world, the main observatory music, and something else... maybe the ending?

I wish I could follow up on my questions!
