What is your greatess achievement in life?

Hard question, but YOU are the survival of the fittest.
I have to get back to my answer. This thread came out of nowhere while listening to a song :o

I can benchpress a 5oz martini.

Seriously? Most of my academic achievements. I was seriously ill at the time and still managed to get the work in etc [/bumming myself to infinity].

My greatest achievement in life thus far...Hmmm. Difficult to put a finger on. The most gratifying achievement was winning an award from the Kennedy Center Theater Festival for original music composition and sound design for a little production titled, "Fuddy Meers". It was also my first foray into writing music professionally and it went very well.

Still so much to do though. :)

My greatest achievement so far is learning Liszts Hungarian Rhapsody No. 2 on the piano which is way above my skill level.

To add to this thread: playing and beating Gradius III on the hardest difficulty setting with only dieing once.

I don't think I have any achievements outside of gaming because I pretty much suck. Honestly, I could be doing better in everything but I'm very laid back and procrastinate so much that everything I do I just drop sooner or later. =/

I touched some boobies.

Also, I haven't been disowned by my parents. Well, at least not both of them. XD

I'm not exactly sure what my greatest achievement has been.
Probably moving away from home, to a different state, no less.

Or becoming a music major. That's an achievement all in itself.

Erm, as of now? Probably scoring near-perfect and winning a prize for it & getting a 50% discount on my tuition fees for that. (saved my dad a few thousand bucks, so was pretty great to me.)

Finishing a bunch of stories (fiction), graduating from college, maintaining cavity-free teeth.

Beating cancer. That was a pretty big hurdle to jump over but I wrestled that fucker to the ground and am now in remission.

Am I the only one who really wants to see someone come in and follow this up with something like "I beat DDR on hard."

LordsSword Nov 12, 2007 02:12 PM

The day when I understood the source of my negativity & pessimism and walked away from anger.

Locke Nov 12, 2007 02:13 PM

Hrm... Greatest acheivment... Probably when I completed my commercial pilot's license - booyeah! Complete with multi engine and IFR endorsements, and then I went on to get my seaplane endorsement... oh yeah.

Other then that... Maybe Habitat For Humanity in Tanzania.

And smack into ignorance and idiocy. Congrats on that.

I really don't know why we're still posting here. OttawaGirl69 up there already won. It's over. We can't top that.

I could toss out all sorts of stuff about academic achievement, large monetary rewards for services rendered or fucking Shin's mom until she was rendered comatose, but it doesn't top "I beat cancer." We all lose, boys and girls. Thread over. World done. Discussion halted.

Locke Nov 12, 2007 02:32 PM

Good point... I ain't done shit compared to that.

You go girl!

Yes, asshole.

On an unrelated note, I beat Guitar Hero 3 on expert.

Fire On Ice Nov 12, 2007 08:16 PM

Guitar Hero 3? On expert?! Well shit I can't compare to that. I tip my hat to you good sir.

I didn't mean for that to happen ;_; way to guilt trip me.

Wall Feces Nov 12, 2007 09:38 PM

I've had three relatives beat cancer. It's pretty awesome :)

But admit it, beating Guitar Hero 3 is more METAL! <3

Fire On Ice Nov 12, 2007 09:49 PM

Damn straight! Took a while, but I did it!

eriol33 Nov 14, 2007 08:32 AM

my first greatest achievement probably having my novel published around last october. Prior before it, I received award from local novel competition in national level. I thought it was joke when I told that I was won 3rd prize, but hey, at least I received $1,250 :D

Honestly I'm really glad that I chose to develop my writing skill since I feel lack of talents. I have given up my dream being pianist, and when I moved to other town, I feel like I need to develop other talent, and here I am, ended up dreaming become a novelist. I'm still local newbie novelist, but someday if I have chance to live in english-speaking country, I will publish my own english-written novel =)

I barely beat it on Medium.

Forget beating even fucking "Slow Ride" on Hard. :gonk:

BurningRave Nov 14, 2007 11:44 PM

Probably servicing other people.
