Heterochromia...

There was a thread like this before, but it's gone now so I'm making another one...

Who here has heterochromia?

For those of you who don't know what that is, heterochromia means your left eye isn't the same color as your right eye.

My left if brown, my right is green. Here's a pic:

thats sweet. remineds me of the hommoculi from FULLMETALSLACHESMT

Double Post:
i do sorta also. 1/4 of my eye is light brown, versus brown

Elcee Mar 23, 2006 04:26 AM

I find it to be an attractive physical characteristic. I'm not, myself.

Eleo Mar 23, 2006 04:43 AM

There's maybe like 3 other people on the forum who have this.

On an unrelated note, my friend has a pupil that is shaped very similarly to Florida. I've never seen a misshapen pupil anywhere else. I wonder if it affects his vision at all.

That means Yuna from FF X suffer this Heterochromia. Is this a gen factor? or... mutation?

Fjordor Mar 23, 2006 05:15 AM

Let's not forget as well Suiseiseki from Rozen Maiden (also downloading and watching that series as well)

The most logical explainations to this has to be genetic defects. I'm personally not Heterchromia, but I find it rather unique to be one, even though i'm not.

Asuna from Negima has Heterchromia too. She has blue and light blue eyes.

Thanks to science and technology, you all can be Heterchromias, simply by submitting an application for a pair of contacts~

Now lets all thank science and technology, come on all together now..

"THANK YOU SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY"

Scince and technology says: *cough* ungreatful bastards *cough*

(That is pretty cool though, I just have a nice pair of brown eyes)

..dc

As long as Heterochromia doesnt have any negative effects on you, I think it's okay. But you might be called nerds by people who dont know if you had that genetic difference.

Well I love my brown eyes. no need lens to change their colors.

I posted a picture of my pet cat in the 'post your pet's pic's' thread. she/he (i cant make up my mind what sex that cat is) has heterochromia -one eye yellow, the other, blue. I think it's funky.

I'm not sure what causes it, but I don't think it's anything that you inherit. In my case, I'm the only one in my family with heterochromia. Also, everyone in my family has brown eyes, so I'm not sure why one of mine is green. I suspect it's a mutation thing... if anyone has more info on this I'd love to know more.

I actually started watching Rozen Maiden because I saw that it had characters with heterochromia. It's a great anime, one of my favorites. SuiseiSeki is awsome... desu...

Also, don't forget Kakashi from Naruto...

That pisses me off, because I have people ask me all the time if I'm wearing colored contacts. I just have to look at them and think "what a retarded question". Why the hell would I wear glasses if I had contacts?

I don't believe that it does. I have bad vision, but it's unrealted to Heterochromia...

The first time I saw something like this was in Shadow the Hedgehog. The G.U.N. Commander had them. I thought it was quite interesting.

Not really a genetic disorder, but melanin pigments in the eye are insufficient for both.

It's basically the pigments, not genetic or hereditary.

Anyone ever seen someone with Purple eyes?

Well other than Elizabeth Taylor...

Jan Mar 23, 2006 06:44 PM

Wow. I think that's cool. Makes you very unique in a non ugly way! Looks great! = D

J-Man Mar 23, 2006 08:09 PM

My sister has that. My mum always says that the brown eye remends her of the milkman, because it irritates my dad. I'd say it's one of the less hideous of the minor physical disorders.

Spatula Mar 23, 2006 08:18 PM

That's probably one of the coolest things for a "non-common eye trait". My left eye lid is slightly smaller than my right though. o_O

But not the eyeball itself.

Rydia Mar 23, 2006 11:22 PM

I've never met anyone with two different colored eyes before, but I've always found it interesting. So what do you put when asked for eye color?

Kensaki Mar 23, 2006 11:29 PM

My eyes seems to shift between a feint green and a feint blue color. Don't ask me how they have just always done that.

Check their genital buddy, that's how we determine their sex.:lolsign: lol.

I'm pretty sure this is a common occurance.

JackTheRipper Mar 25, 2006 03:12 PM

I think thats pretty cool. I have 2 green eyes that are nice, but it would be cool to say that you have a green and a blue eye.

doodle Mar 26, 2006 12:06 AM

The full name is "Heterochromia Iridium", and in the old stories it was supposed to be the sign of magic in a person, or something like that.

midais Mar 26, 2006 08:24 AM

I think its pretty cool. But nowadays with contact lenses alot of people can always just make their eyes too, artificially.

David4516 Mar 30, 2006 03:30 AM

So nobody else here has it? Dang... I thought there'd be a few of you out there...

I didn't intend for this to be a "hey look at me, aren't I cool" thread, but I guess thats how it turned out... sorry...
