Nano 2007
National Novel Writing Month
Don't worry, you still have like 36 hours or something to prepare. Which is too much, really. You need to procrastinate and wait until the last possible second to really get that true "nano" feel. |
Shit! SHIT! SHIT! I've already wasted thirty-six minutes non-writing.
Okay, someone do the math for me... 31 days to write 50,000 words. How many words a day is that? I am actually doing this, who else is participating? What are you stories about? |
I wasn't planning on it, but I just signed up after seeing this. What the heck. If I don't reach 50k, doesn't matter. At least I have even more incentive to write.

you too?
I'm not about to write a novel and NOT try to get it published. It'll need some TLC before that, but at least it's FINISHED to a point.... can't wait. I'm sitting on an idea, and I'm waiting VERY impatiently. |
Seems like I forget about this every year; maybe I'll actually manage to do something this time. I've finished novels before, but the fact that people can whip off a draft in 30 days makes my sluggish pace look lazy.
I'm going to try it. November's a busy month, but the best writing is done when other deadlines are looming! |

In any case, I'm about 3,000 words in. Ahead of schedule, hurrah. This is actually my first time trying this so I'm excited to see how it turns out. |
So how's everyone doing, halfway through? I have to admit, I really got caught up in the whole thing, what with pasting it into my sig and all.
It's been a pretty tough slog, and I think the final novel is going to be pretty weird (unless you think stories about kids, holes in the fabric of existence, and giant squid are normal...) but it feels great too. We should hold a reading party once the month is over--bring however much you got done and share it! |
