Windows Folder Issues
I'm running WINDOWS XP and am having a small issue...
I set my music folder to be viewed as large icons, so that I can see the album cover as well as the album name below each folder. Now the album titles are no longer visible. WHY? Basically this is obnoxious to me since I don't recall changing anything. HOW do I make it so that the title of the folder appears below the large icon? ALSO, how can I change, say a .txt file to a .bin file by simply renaming it? I recently discovered I can't do that anymore... is there a folder option or something where the file extensions are visible? Somehow this changed as well. Thanks for reading! |
Not sure what you mean about the large icons. Are you referring to the thumbnails mode?
For file extensions.. open any folder goto Tools > Folder options... > View tab > uncheck "Hide extensions for known file types" |
Just download a album cover, place it in the corresponding folder, and rename it to "folder.jpg" without the parentheses, and you SHOULD be good to go.

Thumbnail is the correct term. I may as well show you the image...
Forgive the size: http://img300.imageshack.us/img300/4664/68497352cx6.png This is what I want: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...llectionv5.jpg Thanks for your help thus far too :) |
I should kick you. j/k
A quick google search for "thumbnail folder names missing" led me to a couple pages with a solution. Hold Shift key when you open that folder, or... change view to something like Details, hold Shift key and change it back to Thumbnail View. |
Oh, man, thanks! Hah, and if you wanna kick me you should see some of my original threads I made back in 04 .___________.;;;
but yea, that totally worked, thanks everyone! |
