Eye of Judgement

Anyone picking this up today? I wanna try it but I want to see what some people think about it before dropping the money on it.

I'm really interested in this game, because it really seem unique ad it is a pretty goos game for the PSeye, but I want to know if the starter deck cards is enough to play at least with 2 people or if I need to but other deck which I don,t really want to :\ I just want to enjoy the game as it is without buying any other pack.

Slayer X Oct 23, 2007 10:40 PM

I wanted to. But of the ten-billion games coming out today. Not a single store had a new game today.

Not;
FutureShop
Wal*Mart
BestBuy
EB Games
BlockBuster

Yeah that's right, I checked all thoes stores for EOJ, Ratched 5 (4?), KoF XI, Jericho, Phoenix Wright 3, Castlevania Dracula X, and more. Not a single one. So yeah this is a rant basically, sorry bout that.

However my intention is to get this game and more if they ever get shipped over here. (Canada sucks at times).

Wait what, KoF XI is just now getting released over there? ;_; I bought it locally months ago! What sort of crazy upside down world is this! I hope Konami get on board with this and release a Yu-Gi-Ugh version, I think i'd quite enjoy screaming TIME TO DROOL and splattering the TV with cake crumbs while fumbling around with sexy cards! Or an OLD MAID game.

Yeah it was, but KoF just got pushed back ANOTHER week. Now it's due on the 31st. This blows chunks for myself (and my friends) because I know that we'd all camp out for a new KoF game... if it were ever on time. Too bad it wasn't as big as Halo iver here... trends suck.

Back to topic here. I just got Eye of Judgement today. It's pretty kick ass. It really does suck that there isn't any campaign mode with all the detail of the cinematic and character bios combined with a map of the world showing each creatures origin within that world. But if it was all for the sake of making the game as good as it is, I suppose that's fine for the first installment of the game.

If anyone wants to add me to play my ID is ChaosLegionsire
For thoes who already have me on your list feel free to invite me any time you see me on. Even if I'm playing something else at that time (i.e. Ratched: ToD).

I bought it, played it, and aside from minor issues, there's one big problem.

The camera. If I'm not playing in broad daylight, I can't play. I can't seem to get the camera to read the cards accurately on the screen when I play in my apartment at night. I had lights everywhere and there was plenty of illumination. Experimented with all kinds of lighting and placement and couldn't get the thing to read more than 5 cards at once.

But the game itself is fun. Not quite as in-depth to the point of nausea as Yu-Gi-Oh or the WoW card game, but enough strategy involved to keep playing. The computer beat my ass (even on beginner difficulty) several times, but I found myself wanting to keep playing and wanting to try new strategies.

Definitely a "practice makes perfect" game, especially for me who's never played a card-battling game like this.

DID YOU KNOW YOU CAN USE THE PSP AS A CARD??

lol

Slayer X Oct 26, 2007 10:50 PM

You can use anything as a card. I traced the green triangles and black bars of a card with a pencil and then coloured them accordingly and it worked fine, despite that my lines were all screwed up.

Doesn't really break the game though. Considering that the powerful creatures are locked until turn 10 or 20 (depends on time setting) and that they cost a shit load of mana, the game remains balanced even when "cheating". You canalways leave the match and report a person who does this jind of stuff too.

Still... it's fun to see what all you can do to manipulate the camera ;)

nice, so you could print a hold deck of cards and it will still work?

is so, I'll surely buy this game...when I'll have some money (which mean after Christmas ; ; )

Slayer X Oct 26, 2007 11:54 PM

problem is that it's a bit hard to shuffle a deck of paper no? Also like I said. Other then against the computer, no one's going to face you if you use paper cards so what's the point of bothering?

Inhert Oct 27, 2007 12:10 AM

oh yeah I forgot about online play XD and you can always but them in some plastic. It's really not to build the best deck of cards and to try to own everyone, but more that I don't want to buy additional booster pack :\

anyway I'll probably just play with some friends or versus the computer.

so, how many cards are coming with the game? is it enough for at least 2 players?
